Wedding & Event FAQs

You spend thousands (and thousands) of dollars on a unique wedding dress, a distinctive cake and a one-of-a-kind flower arrangement. You want your special day to be exactly that - special. So why would you have the same band, the same music and the same set list as every wedding reception before you? When you hire other wedding bands that’s exactly what you get, take it from us we’ve been there. Those bands you want to hire to play your wedding reception are out there right now, performing the exact same reception that you will get when your big day arrives. Aren’t you Ready4More?

Our song list grows every day and our set lists change every single show, no two shows are alike. More importantly, we don’t make our song selection from a year-old list like the others. We base our song choices on (hold on to your veil) – YOU! Prior to your big event we meet with you in person to discuss your likes and dislikes but we go much further than that. Combining your desires with our experiences as seasoned musical professionals allows us to create the perfect wedding reception - your perfect once-in-a-lifetime party for you and your closest circle of family and friends.

You are faced with numerous wedding decisions: country club or barn, inside or outside, finger-foods or buffet, blah or fun. You deserve to have the same spectrum of options when it comes to your musical entertainment and we are here to offer you the best time of your life on the most important day of your life.

We are Ready4More.

Please note we will go over all of this again in detail when we schedule our first meeting with you but we are providing a list of frequently asked questions to help you make your important entertainment decision.

  • Is my wedding date available? Start with this one question. If we are booked none of the other questions matter.
  • How long have you been performing together? Ignoring the fact that Karl and Keith have been brothers since Karl was born, the four of us have been together for several decades in a number of bands and musical endeavors. As an example, Keith and Decker played their first wedding reception together in the mid 1990’s.
  • How is your pricing determined? A number of factors but mainly, distance to event (from Charlotte), length of event and whether there are any special requests made.
  • Are there any additional fees that could accrue that I am not taking into account, like travel expenses or charges for special musical requests? All prices are agreed upon in advance and included in the contract that is signed upon your decision to book Ready4More.
  • How many weddings have you done? How many weddings do you do in an average weekend? Between the four of us we’ve done hundreds of weddings, parties and private events. We only schedule one event per day in order to give our clients our best performance.
  • Will you be the emcee/bandleader at our wedding reception? If you request us to emcee your event we will be happy to do so (at no extra charge). If not we will still provide support by offering assistance with our PA and microphones. Either way we need access to your wedding planner/coordinator.
  • What sets you apart from your competition? This is where we shine and, most likely, you already know the answer to this question. Basically stated, we know how wedding bands have been done and we decided to make wedding entertainment a one-of-a-kind event tailored to the special couple on their special day. Creating a unique playlist along with our ability to play creative and energetic medleys are just two of our talents you will get on your special day.
  • Can you provide me with recent couples that I can contact for references? Yes, however, when possible, we prefer to invite you to one of our live performances so you can judge for yourself. Plus, who doesn’t want one more night of live music?
  • Can you assist me in choosing the music for my processional, recessional, father-daughter dance, etc.? Absolutely. Our knowledge of both traditional and modern musical trends may give you ideas you never would have considered.
  • How extensive is your music library or song list? What genres can you cover? This is a tough one since we consider any song within the last sixty years to be on our playlist. Having played so many venues and events we are adaptable to most genres and have most likely already played many of the songs you would want. We strive to find the musical link in seemingly unconnected songs and then combine them into a medley/mash up for an unexpected, whirlwind tour of artists and songs. Our focus is on dancing, partying, having fun and creating a memorable night of music and live entertainment and we want to do this in a way that is unique to you and your event.
  • How do you keep your music collection up-to-date? We rehearse regularly and have brainstorming sessions to create exciting new compilations of old and new songs. Additionally, every time someone requests a new song, that song gets added to our growing play list.
  • If one of the band members scheduled for my event is unable to perform for some reason, do you have a backup replacement ready to go? Yes, one benefit of playing music for so many years is creating a network of trusted musicians that can help when the unexpected occurs. All of us have filled in for other bands and we know there will be times where we have to call for back up.
  • Do you take any breaks? What music will be provided during the breaks? For a four hour event we typically take two 20 minute breaks. For wedding receptions we tend to adapt to the event as sometimes we get an “unofficial break” when things pause for the cutting of the cake or other special announcements. We can provide music (DJ style) during our breaks and the song selections we play are agreed upon in advance.
  • How many band members will perform that day? Ready4More is a 4piece band but we have the availability to scale up and add additional instrumentalists, vocalist and entertainers if needed.
  • Do you act as the "emcee" and make all of the announcements? Yes, if needed. This traditionally needs to be coordinated with the wedding planner.
  • How would you define your "style" when making announcements? Sort of Ringling Brothers Ringmaster meets Harry Caray. Just kidding, we are very pleasant, engaging and exciting.
  • What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing? The real answer is “ we just start playing music”. If ever needed we have several tricks we’ve learned over the years, some of which include inviting guests onstage and/or inviting some of the wedding dignitaries to come celebrate the bride and groom’s special day. Honestly, getting people to dance has never been a problem.
  • Do you take requests from our guests? Yes, to an extent, as long as it keeps with the Bride’s/Groom’s desires and/or our vision for creating a memorable reception.
  • Can we submit a "Do Not Play" list? Absolutely, Ready4More expects you to give us input on two lists: the music you want us to play and the music you don’t want us to play.
  • When will I receive a written contract? Written contracts are reviewed and signed upon our first in-person meeting with the Bride and Groom. At this time we go through our wedding reception questionnaire to help us fully plan your dream reception.
  • How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan? In order to protect ourselves and our calendar, a nonrefundable down payment of 25% is required upon completing and signing our performance agreement. We are flexible on payments but the outstanding balance has to be paid immediately before we begin playing your event.
  • What is your refund/cancellation policy? Cancellation may be made by the client prior to the time of the event, in which case the client's 25% deposit remains non-refundable but the client will not have to pay the remaining 75% of the total fee.
  • How far in advance do I need to book you? As long as our calendar is free we have no minimum booking time.

  • What information do you need from me before the wedding day? During our first meeting we will go through a lengthy wedding reception questionnaire that will help us collect everything we need. Our questionnaire is too lengthy to include here but we cover all aspects of your reception and our performance so both parties have a comfortable understanding of what to expect.
  • Does any of your equipment require special electrical outlets that I need to inform my wedding site about? We have no special requirements but we ask for access to at least two independent 20 amp 120 Volt circuits.
  • Do you bring backup equipment? Yes, we bring backup PA equipment and additional instruments to cover any eventuality.
  • How much time will you need for setup, sound check and breakdown on the day of the event? If the load-in access if fairly straightforward we usually plan an hour and a half for setup, fifteen minutes for sound check and an hour for breakdown.
  • Do you (and each band member, if you're booking a band) require a meal? Yes, as part of our contract we request to be provided with a substantial, nutritional meal and beverages.
  • What time will you arrive at the site? This depends on whether or not we have to be set up and sound-checked before your guests arrive. We prefer to arrive early enough so we can take our time to set up our equipment, perform a sound check, neaten the stage area’s cables and containers, change clothes and relax briefly before performing.
  • Will we meet again before the wedding? Usually we meet once in person to sign the contract and complete the wedding reception questionnaire. After that, any further communications are usually by phone or email unless there is further need for an in-person meeting. After the initial meeting we prefer to work with the wedding planner/coordinator and remove one more detail from the Bride’s/Groom‘s to-do list.
  • When do we need to submit our music requests and event details? As early as possible to give us enough time to plan/prepare. At the time of our first meeting we will develop a deadline for submitting music requests.
  • What will you wear to our wedding? Depending on your event we will either wear tuxedos or, at a minimum, suit and tie unless otherwise specified. We prefer to be dapper and overdress unless the situation calls for something more casual.
